Message from outgoing co-president Joan Skubish

It is hard to believe two years have passed and I am writing my last President’s message. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to lead this inspiring and hardworking group of women. I am so grateful for the support of Club members and appreciate the dedication of those members whose focus has been on our mission. You can be proud of all we have accomplished by working together. As we begin our 91st year as a women’s club, we can take pride in the fact that we are an active, viable organization with members willing to participate in and volunteer for our committees, interest groups and fundraisers. Our continued success is due to the willingness of our members to give of their time, talents, and skills to ensure we reach our goal of continuing to educate young women. As a rising tide lifts all boats, when one woman is educated, we are all educated.

I cannot begin to express my thanks to Jean Naugle who has served as an exceptional partner as Co-President. I was blessed the evening she agreed to share this job and will be forever grateful she said she would serve as Co-President. Jean has been a guiding force behind our recent successful Spring fundraiser, from the planning sessions to its execution. Likewise, the successful Yard Sale could not have happened without the patience and flexibility of Jean and her husband Jim. She is organized and efficient and is always kind and compassionate. She is truly a role model for us all and will be a wonderful President in the year ahead.

I hope to see many of you at the June 10th Board, General and Annual Meetings. To all active, emeritus, and sustaining members, I wish you a happy and relaxing summer spent with family and friends. Again, my thanks for your assistance and friendship in these two years as your Co-President—it has been a time I will always remember.

Joan Skubish
